Giraffes live in Africa and generally live in packs. 

Tanzania, Africa - Serengeti, Ngorongoro CraterTheir necks can grow from 1.5 – 1.8m but their necks contain the same amount of vertebrae as a human, a vertebra is the collection of bones in a spinal column.

The hair on the giraffe's tail is 10 times thicker than a human hair strand!

Their white and brown spots are great at camouflaging them from predators. The light and dark spots blend in with the sunlight and the shadows in the bushes.

A giraffe can weigh up to 1400kg

You can identify whether a giraffe is male or female from the horns on their head, the female giraffes will have slightly smaller horns with fur on them, yet the males will have larger horns.

Giraffes have four stomachs to help them digest their food.

Drinking is the most dangerous time for giraffes as they cannot see if there is a predator around, which leaves them vulnerable.

They also have dark tongues that are very tough so they are able to eat from thorny trees and bushes, without hurting themselves.
