It's Anti-Bullying Week and it's time to band together to stop bullying. So here are some ways to help you make friends and some advice on what to do if children are being mean or bullying you.
Some people find it easy to make friends and some find it difficult. This might be because we are all different and we all like different things.
If you find it hard to make friends, a really good way to start is to smile and be friendly.
Friends come in all different shapes and sizes. You should never feel that you need to change who you are or the way that you dress to fit in with other children.
Good friends try to be kind and trustworthy. Good friends will try to share and listen to each other.
It is normal to disagree with friends sometimes. When this happens remember that it probably won't last for long.
If you have an argument with a friend, have a think about why it happened. If it was your fault, apologise to them. It might help you to become friends again and if not, at least you will know that you tried.

Always be honest with your friends, but in a nice way. If they ask you to do something that you know is wrong, don't do it! It's okay to say no!
If you find it difficult to make friends at school, try your best not to worry. Tell a teacher and they can help you get more involved in school activities.
If you are being picked on by others, try not to get into an argument or a fight. Instead, try to act like it's not bothering you. Once they see that they are not upsetting you, they will probably get bored and stop.
If you are being called names at school, try and laugh it off. It sounds like a difficult thing to do, but if they see you laughing they will start to feel silly and they will probably stop.
If you are being bullied, it is really important that you speak to someone. Tell an adult what is happening as soon as possible. You will feel much better and they will be able to help you too!
