.
Polar Bears swim using their big front paws. They use their back legs for steering.
.
Polar Bears are not actually white! Their fur is transparent, which means it reflects light and this is why they look white. This fur traps the sun’s heat and keeps the Polar Bears warm.
Polar Bears have webbed toes.
.
Polar Bears fur is oily and water repellent. The hairs don't mat when wet, allowing the polar bears to easily shake free of water and any ice that may form after swimming.
Polar Bears like to keep themselves clean. After dinner they will spend around twenty minutes grooming themselves.
.
Polar Bears don’t hibernate! Pregnant Polar Bears become less active and hide in their houses when it gets really cold, but most Polar Bears continue to hunt throughout the whole of winter.
Polar Bears are very angry creatures! They often die from fighting one another. They have also been seen throwing chunks of ice and growling when they have failed to catch their dinner.
Polar Bears sometimes slide on their tummies when they have to go down slippery slopes or over ice.
