Making a Change4Life doesn’t need to be difficult.  With a little help, it can be really rewarding and fun.

Here are some suggestions for small, easy steps you can make to help you stay healthy and happy...

Dried fruit, tinned beans, and frozen peas are all different ways of getting your 5 A DAY.

Just like your hands and feet are smaller than your mum and dad’s, your stomach is too, so you need smaller portions than them.

Playing in the park and dancing in your lounge count towards your 60 minutes of activity per day.

No more traffic jams – why not have your parents walk or cycle with you to school?

Try seeing how thin you can spread on butter and jam – just a dab will do.

Hide the TV remote and instead hop over to the TV to change the channel.

Unlike sugary fizzy drinks, milk has lots of good stuff in it that your body needs to grow strong and healthy. Water and pure fruit juice are good choices too. Next time you’re choosing a drink, why not think about what your body would like best?

When your body runs low on energy, it’s hard to keep playing. But snacks like raisins and other dried fruit give you energy that lasts longer. So if you sometimes get tired in the middle of a game, maybe it’s time to swap your snack.
