ABOUT SQUIZZES
Squizzes is the popular new website for UK schools. It offers pupils and teachers a selection of fun, educational quizzes and competitions in support of the National Curriculum.
A Squiz is an animated educational quiz game played online. Squizzers must correctly answer a series of multiple choice questions in the fastest time. To succeed they often need to review 'Fast Facts' and view a video clip before playing.
The heart of Squizzes.com is our quiz database. Questions are appropriate for the player's age and are selected randomly, so every Squiz is unique. Squizzes are designed so that pupils improve their results with each play. Teachers are able to check and compare pupils' scores.
Most of all, Squizzes make learning fun and exciting! Pupils love quizzes and the leader boards add the spice of competition among classmates and friends. Many of our visitors are dedicated Squizzers, with half of all Squizzes played from home!
Squizzes.com is operated from London by JazzyMedia, the UK's leading in-school communications specialists. Our producers, educational writers and web developers are continuously preparing new Squizzes.
ABOUT SCHOOLS CHALLENGE
A Schools Challenge is a national competition built around a sponsor's Squiz, creating excitement in school communities across the country. Pupils compete over several weeks at class, school and national levels to win hundreds of prizes from pencils and books to bicycles and games consoles. Squizzers play repeatedly to improve their score, checking their results on school and national leader boards. Older pupils do not have an advantage over younger pupils; their questions are harder!
There's more - schools themselves compete with other schools to post the highest scores and win resources such as computers, classroom equipment and sports gear. Parents too are often invited to play to help their school's results.
The Schools Challenge is featured on Squizzes.com and is often supported in school with posters and handouts.

SAFETY AND PRIVACY
Squizzes.com is operated by JazzyMedia Ltd. on behalf of schools and sponsors. We have endeavoured to make the online activity entirely safe for our young visitors and the use of the website under teacher supervision provides extra security. We create, check and test all content with care. It is not possible for third parties to contact children through the microsite, nor is it possible for children to communicate with unknown parties. We gather the minimum of personal data required to administer the programme. Visitors to the website are not required to register; they may enjoy the activity and play the games without providing any personal data. However, registration is necessary in order for a visitor to enter a competition, obtain a ranking on leader boards and win prizes. Registration also permits participating schools to administer their pupils' activity. To register, a visitor must enter their first name and last name, date of birth (or just age if 11 or under), gender and email address (if over 11 years old). Optional information is school affiliation. Date of birth and gender allow us to serve up appropriate content (e.g. quiz questions of appropriate difficulty) and to distinguish between two contestants with the same name. School affiliation allows the individual to compete against others in the school and to count towards that school's participation figure. Email addresses allow us to contact players directly during the competition period if required, to contact winners who are not in participating schools, to invite registrants to participate in future Schools Challenges and to provide information on behalf of our current and future sponsors.
Children under 13 must obtain their teachers’ or parents’ consent before registering. Children who register and play on behalf of a participating school are deemed to have obtained the consent of their parents, either directly or via their school, to provide any personally identifiable information in order to benefit from online educational resources and JazzyMedia does not accept liability for any breach of child privacy laws.
Data collected is the property and responsibility of JazzyMedia which observes the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998. Keeping sensitive information secure is extremely important to us. JazzyMedia will use all reasonable endeavours to ensure that all personally identifiable information relating to Squizzes and received via the Internet is secure against unauthorised access.
JazzyMedia shall not disclose any personally identifiable information to third parties. Authorised administrators in participating schools will be able to view registered pupils’ first and last names and competition activity upon logging in using a password.
JazzyMedia shall retain contestants’ registration data in order to facilitate participation in future educational activities. A registered user (or their parent, if applicable) of the website may request that JazzyMedia remove their personally identifiable information from its database and JazzyMedia shall comply.
Competition winners who are not in participating schools will be notified by email requesting their parent's email address. We will email the parents of winning children requesting their approval to deliver prizes. We will send parents a form containing their home address which they will be required to sign and send us by fax or regular post.
